August Digital Poet-In-Residence: Jessica Wood

As part of our new ‘Apart Together’ digital project for 2021, The Poetry Business has partnered up with The Writing Squad to host a digital residency with a Squad poet each month. Each poet will be producing and posting digital content for The Poetry Business, such as blog posts, audio recordings, writing prompts and more.

Jessica Wood is our Digital Poet-In-Residence for August.

Jessica Wood is a poet from Yorkshire currently living and based in Lisboa, Portugal. She writes about the personal and political referencing her cross-cultural experiences which range from a dual heritage upbringing in the North of England, a year spent gaining a Trinidadian twang in Jamaica to living in a new language and culture in the midst of a global pandemic. She has a degree in Anthropology and Archaeology and an interest in coaching, mentoring and arts consultancy. Her work has been published in Modern Poetry in Translation’s Origins of the Fire Emoji issue, Introduction X by Smith|Doorstop and soon to be published in the The Writing Squad collection Not About Now.
