Hard on the Knuckle was a winner in the 2002 Book & Pamphlet Competition.
Chris Jones was born in 1969 in Nottingham and lives in Sheffield. He was awarded an Eric Gregory Award in 1996. He currently works as a Literature Officer in Leicestershire, and teaches (in his spare time) creative writing at Leicester Adult Education College.
From 1997 to 1999 he worked as a writer-in-residence at Nottingham Prison. This experience has informed the title sequence of this collection.
