Jane Aspinall

Jane Aspinall grew up in Liverpool and following a legal career now works as a university senior lecturer in law and management. She loves poetry, running and the sea.

Jane was a first stage winner in the 2009/10 Poetry Business Competition, a featured poet at The Inaugural Women’s Literature Festival hosted by Carol Ann Duffy in April 2010, and won second prize in the 2010 Academi Cardiff International Poetry Competition.

Her poem Tambourine came second at the Academi Cardiff International Poetry Competition in 2010. Her poem Livingstone was also shortlisted in the Bridport Competition in 2011, judged by Carol Ann Duffy.

Jane has been reading as part of ‘The Quiet Compare’ – a recent Arts Council funded poetry tour.
