Listening to the Night

£9.95

Combining vivid, musical writing and acute perception of the natural world, and ranging across land and land art, birds, buildings and bodies, roads, trees and winds, Jane Routh’s distinctive poems investigate memory and the changes which overtake us all. In the face of environmental and personal loss Listening to the Night celebrates the moments of resilience “that keep mortality at bay”.

In language as bright as it is meticulous, Jane Routh’s poems startle us with their vivid evocations of places and things, but it is her challenging imagination which shows us the spiritual and emotional elements that underlie them. Neil Curry (On Circumnavigation)
